You can't blame the s/w when the under-informed user tells it what to do.

The user probably did this on advice seen in THIS newsgroup, advice propagated by one of the few Linux trolls.

Alias in particular never gives the whole picture. If you people are not prepared to support the aftermath of your advice, don't give advice..
