Yes, although the page is PHP, it is very simple; effectively straight
DHTML with no real scripting going on. CSS is validated clean (but I
think the issue is with CSS). And no browser tweaks for IE6/IE7.
I am sure it is something trivial and we may be able to work around
it.. and don't get me wrong; I hope IE8 gets a fast uptake & and that MS
can somehow hasten the death of IE6 & IE7 'tweaks' but I am still
disappointed; thought it would 'just work' like all the other new
browsers. I ran a couple more tests on browsershots & pretty much other
browser since IE6 works fine. Just IE8 gets screwed; and my compliant is
that they really need something like the old Firefox 'report a problem
with this website' button in a Release Canditate.
Oh.. and it does not seem to have Silverlight come pre-installed with
IE8. Thought that might have happened, but glad it didn't. Nice touch is
that it imports settings from Firefox - which is a turn around. I will
be sticking with FF 3.1 (beta 3) for now, though Safari looks nicer.
