I have a brand new dell xps m1330 4gb RAM, Intel Core duo processori think there is a problem with your installation of your vista
2.5GHZ, 500 gb 5400 rpm HDD, NVIDIA and standard display.
I have windows vista ultimate 64bit installed :zip:
The cpu usage always shoots upto 100% just after 5 -10 mins of
operating the system and makes the system performance patchy(like
playing music, opening even a word document)..
I tried to remove all the unnecessary start up programs from
msconfig,
I disabled windows aero theme and made it classic , but it did not
help
much.
The system starts up well sometimes taking only 90 secs to boot up(I
used the reboot.vbs to calculate this)
I diagnosed the hard disk, did a chkdsk and it showed the disk was
alright.
I ran the defrag but that did not help either.
Please suggest if there is anything that I missed that would speed up
the system.
I just get a feeling that I wasted all the money I shelled out for a
system that wouldn't work. :sa:
Please help.

ultimate since you are using a genuine os, try not to download themes or
any, check your anti virus, reformat your pc if you need to just in my
case...... i bought a pirated vista ultimate 64-bit and my intel core 2
quad q6600 cracked it up and until now i,m running it for almost 2 years
and updated it to service pack 1..here is the bug......before you
activate your system......run update first, after the updates were
installed....restart your pc then go to system properties to activate
your score....in my case i,m trying to study why a pirated dvd with a
genuine os inside that runs to well....no bug...no fraps....core
performance with up to 10%-25% only... ihave 3 gig ddr2 667 Mhz i even
play crysis warhead on very high settings with nvidia 8600gt 512 mb with
no faps and lags...
for you my only advise is that dont download themes..... be contented
with you aero scheme...check your anti virus....i,m using nod32 for 64
bit.... check your browsers...avoid too much installation of softwares
that might affect your o.s......disable windows blinds if you have
one....if necessary uninstall it....... it would be blad on my part if
you this might help...
thanks...jansil666@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> email
