But in fact, Marty and his eMicrophones MyMSSpeech spammer buddies

First of all we are not buddies. We are business people. We started in the
speech recognition business as IBM Business Partners being trained in and
supporting the IBM Personal Dictation System in 1994. We have had a web site
for supporting speech recognition and microphones since 1997. We have a list
of over 16,000 customers. A great percentage of these are repeat customers.
With difficulty you will find at most 10 complaints about myself or
eMicrophones. In relationship tot the total numbers of customers this is
insignificant as you cannot please everyone although we try.
Mark Bender (aka John Doe) states:
"Marty Martin Markoe has a racket that goes something like this... Whenever
a speech recognition problem occurs, his first and only effort is to sell a
microphone
and/or other hardware to you (more recently, the WSR toolkit, but
that is mainly for getting you to his commercial website)."
We have to say you are a "Genius Boy," because you are partially correct
except you have the sequence of events reversed. First of all when someone
has a speech recognition related problem we try to help solve it whether it
involves a microphone or not.
A simple search of all the forums and user groups will show this to be true.
If I lead someone to one of our web sites, it is because our web sites are a
wealth of information. For example, there is a frequently asked questions
section on eMicrophones which has sections with many questions and answers
about:
1. Microphones/Soundcards
2. Software
3. Computers
4. Dragon NaturallySpeaking
5. Windows™ Speech Recognition
There is also a Links/Articles page where you can download the article,
"Key Steps To High Speech Recognition Accuracy" found at:
http://www.emicrophones.com/articles/index.asp
On the Links/Articles page there is also links to three sound files. These
are been up there for seven years. They do just what Mr. John Doe talks about
but cannot describe as well as someone listening to the actual sound files.
Our new MyMSSpeech web site at:
http://www.mymsspeech.com
Is dedicated exclusively to Windows Speech Recognition. As a matter of fact,
on the home page, is a link to the article, "Getting Started with Windows™
Speech Recognition"
So, yes, we do try to get people to come to our web sites. We will also
recommend appropriate microphones based on a person's individual needs. I
cannot tell you how many times a week I tell people they do not need the most
expensive microphone or that they have a good microphone and just need to
learn to pace themselves and enunciate better. Unfortunately, Mark Bender
sees what we do is something perverted. In fact we still love this technology
and after all these years and still see the magic of words appearing on
screen as we speak.
After taking years of your abuse, using filthy and profane language on
public user groups, I paid for an investigation into who John Doe was. As
stated, he is a criminal who has been arrested twice for domestic assault
(does it matter if it is a wife or an elderly parent or a male parent as
assault is rarely justified). He was also severely sued and is now living in
poverty as a result of his asocial behavior. My reason for investigating him
was to sue him for slander and or libel. It turns out he has no assets, not
even an automobile registered to him as of 2 years ago. At first hearing of
his situation I felt pity. I tried contacting him to explain I did not wish
to reveal his pitiful existence. His response was just more filthy vitriole.
So sad, so sad.
Marty Markoe, real person with a real life.
