My PC gets a blue screen and reboots. The message on the screen is very
hard to see as it only flashes on for a couple of seconds. I don't think
it
is a software problem as I reinstalled vista and it still happened. I
took
off Norton and installed AVG. I have been careful not to install too many
programs but it is still no good. Can someone help as it is getting me
down. I had Acer look into it and they told me it was because I had a non
Acer RAM installed. That was rubbish as it still happened when they
removed
the RAM. Thanks
You have hardware failure but there's no way for us to tell what
component(s) it is with so little information. The first thing to do is
stop the automatic rebooting behavior so you can get the Stop Error. Once
you have the Stop Error, you can research it here and/or post back with the
details for more help.

Yes, Acer's answer was rubbish. If the machine is under warranty, back up
your data and insist that Acer fix it. Otherwise, you can do some hardware
troubleshooting yourself. Having the Stop Error will help you narrow down
the troubleshooting.

Testing hardware failures often involves swapping out suspected parts with
known-good parts. If you can't do the testing yourself and/or are
uncomfortable opening your computer, take the machine to a professional
computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of
BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). If possible, have all your data backed up
before you take the machine into a shop.
