"My Computer" and "My Documents" are Windows XP things. Vista does not have them. Did you create them?

I am currently running Windows Vista Ultimate x32. I have three hard
drives. Drive-C: is the system drive; Drive-D: is My Documents and
Drive-E for misc storage.
When I first startup my computer, I can click on 'My Computer' icon and
can access all three drives and all the information, BUT when I exit and
then click on 'My Computer' icon again, all I get is a blank screen with
NO listing of hard drives, CD player or DVD player.
If I re-boot my system the process starts all over again.
I have ran diskchk, virus/trojan scans and I get a clean bill of
health.
Any help would be appreciated.
