love it if Microsoft took a page from both Linux
and Apple on their installers: they just pop up
with a request for the root (administrator's) password.
Gets the user's attention, instead of annoying him
to the point where he "ignores" all the UAC messages.
The problem with that is the user gets conditioned to always just entering his password. THAT is a very bad idea. So you get some malware that pops up the same screen, and the user automatically enters his password.
Yeah, that's *great* security!
I'll take UAC asking me "hey, did you start this?" over "hey, give me your password" every time.
