Hi S,

Shall I try again.

Yes. Ensure that you run the commands from an "elevated" Command Prompt.

Hi Remesh,

I typed the commands to rename the repository to repository.old.

I thought that things went well, but on rebooting the machine, I
received the Windows security alert icon again.

I used Windows Explorer to look at the system32\wbem folder and found
that the repository folder had not been renamed.

I assume that if my efforts were succesful, I would have two folders:
repository (freshly made) and repository.old.

Shall I try again.

Best wishes

Hi,

Thanks for responding,

I tried to rename the repository to repository.old and got the message
that a duplicate file exists.

I used dir|more on the directory and found two directories

repository
repository.old

rebooted machine, but the problem remains

I checked in Vista using Windows Explorer in both normal and admin
modes and found the repository directory, but no repository.old
directory.

In addition, I got the impression that nothing was rebuilt (no
messsages)

Help

Best wishes

S
