Another 14 updates came down the pipe today.
Fedora 10 was released today and it already has 110 updates ready and waiting. :)

That means nothing, other than you not knowing how open-source software is managed and developed.

ss.

Would you invest in this open source venture? Big deal not knowing how open-source software is managed, and developed. It's better to know in what ever the venture is, that consumers rule, and not producers. Open source can be as idealistic as Marxist utopia, or as realistic high quality, efficient production machine (it's neither), why don't these open source developers for Ubuntu have no, to very little customers?

You're ill informed. There are millions of home users, businesses and government offices using Ubuntu.

Who needs to know the dynamics of open source, Mr. Syndrome? Here you go, have a turn, I'm listening, sell me Ubuntu, tell me why. Make me feel good about this potential purchase. Be different Mr. S. Syndrome, because word of mouth, particularly here (for all reasons big and small), is not too good. Change it, let's see the faith, and belief in this open source venture, called Ubuntu.

You should stick with Windows. Your bias and prejudice keeps you from having an open mind.

Subtract all of the servers and what is the "desktop" penetration.

NOT MUCH!

Millions. Had you read what I posted, you would know that.

Read what you wrote?? Of course.

But why would anyone believe what *you* write?

Where are the links (from disinterested 3rd parties surveys) to back up your claims? Downloads do not give the real picture, as you well know. I downloaded Udungtu 8.10 and certainly do not consider myself a user and do not want to be counted as such.

BTW, you wrote "There are millions of home users, businesses and
>>> government offices using Ubuntu"

How many of those millions are actually running Udungtu as desktops for everyday business tasks?

The total is a drop in the bucket of the computer world.

EXTRA!!

An amusing aside for all others except Alias. Guess what? Ubuntu is ***NOT*** recognized in spell check and comes up as misspelled.

What a HOOT!
