Re: 64 bit conversion to 32 bit - ?files and settings transfer?

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

actually, I would like to remain with the 64 bit system. The current
version of my medical records is working with it, although it was a bear
to get the scanners and peripherals drivers to work. However, I MUST
upgrade to the newer version of the medical records program for various
reasons and that is where the problem lies. I don't have it installed
yet, I just have been warned on the purchase information that it is not
compatible with the 64 bit os. I spoke directly with an IT at the
vendor and he said that he has seen the new program work with the 64 bit
program but there were problems with scanners and other peripherals.
Since much of the input I receive from other physicians is not digital
and has to be scanned in, I cannot afford to lose patient data that
might go winging to who knows where. I am going to load the new version
on the 64 bit system while maintaining the old version for real-time
work for now. If the new version doesn't work, then I will run a clean
install back to the 32 bit os. I do appreciate all of your comments. I
will eventually (sooner rather than later) have to go to the newer
version of the software, I just didn't want to stay up all night last
night fixing it and wasn't sure I knew how. That is why I wondered if I
could do a files and settings transfer using the 64 bit as the old
computer and the 32 bit as the new computer after the clean install.
Apparently I can't, so I'll just go the long way if necessary

Thanks again, RRSMD
