Alias, you get your Yahoo mail through Yahoo Messenger, as well as get into
Yahoo Chat via it..

and you can download the new Ubuntu, Intrepid Ibex, from
http://www.ubuntu.com/
What you can do with Ubuntu:
Surf the web
Burn CDs.
Rip CDs.
Listen to music.
Watch vidoes/DVDs.
Scan and print.
Spreadsheets.
Presentations
Newsgroups.
HTML editing.
Games like Chess, Tetris, all kinds of solitaire, etc.
Make videos.
Download photos from a camera and organize them.
Translations.
Use a dictionary
Learn how to touch type.
Edit images.
Send and receive a fax.
Take screenshots.
Create .PDF files.
Create and use a data base.
Instant messaging with over 10 different programs in one including
Windows Live Messenger.
IRC.
Bluetooth.
and much more!
What you can't do with Ubuntu:
Worry about:
WPA and WGA raising their ugly heads,
DRM,
Viruses,
Root kits,
Spyware,
and
Malware.
The reasons that Ubuntu is more secure than Windows are twofold:
1. When *anything* in Ubuntu needs updating or patching, it all
comes from the same source and a little orange star appears when
any updates or patches are available. It's a known fact that anti
virus apps and anti malware apps can only deal with nasties that
are known, not the new ones. Hence, it is very important to be
updated or patched and not just the operating system but
everything that is installed on the computer. Windows has no
central updating source and the user has to be checking constantly
for updates to their programs or face the possibility of being
compromised.
2. In Ubuntu, when anything wants to install, you have to key in
your password. With Windows, you have to click on "OK" or nothing
at all as is evidenced by drive by malware. Unlike Windows, the
Linux kernel is not intertwined with a browser like Windows is
with Internet Explorer and the kernel is kept away and protected
from the user account.

You have missed items out of what you can't do with Ubuntu, or what
is next to impossible..
You still haven't replied to my post about Yahoo Messenger. Why is
that? Is it because you posted LIES and don't want to own up to your
mistakes?
Programs you can't use with Ubuntu:
Most video games.
Specialized programs like CAD.
So, if you're a gamer, keep an XP box around for games. If you're
one of the less than 1% of users that need Windows Only software,
keep an XP box around for that too.

Not at all..
People like Yahoo Messenger because it is the same as all of their
friends use, and they can help each other out with problems..
No different from Pidgin. I IM with Windows Yahoo users all the time.
Neither can take you directly to Yahoo Chat which you said the Windows
version will and it won't.
Programs that don't work with Ubuntu go much further than just CAD..
And had I said "just" CAD, you would have a point but I didn't. I said
"like" CAD.
Also, setting up dual displays is anything but easy..
Most people don't have dual displays, especially with the panoramic
monitors available today.
At least give people the whole picture..
When are you going to own up to lying about Yahoo?
Alias
Yahoo messenger will take you into Yahoo chat..
Open Yahoo Messenger
Click on the Messenger tab
Halfway down the list is ...
YAHOO CHAT..
I stand corrected. I don't know anyone that uses it. That said, Pidgin
will do the same thing, albeit you have to know to which room you are
going. It will also do it for MSN and ICQ groups.
Check up stuff before typing lies..
You said Pidgin can't do it and you were wrong. I said Yahoo Windows
Messenger can't do it and I was wrong.
"like CAD" or almost any other commercial program available from the
same store as people by their computers..
These programs are not used by many people. Period. And those who do
probably already have an XP box with it/them loaded.
No, most people don't have dual displays, and a good job too while one
is sitting on Ubuntu..
You don't have the decency to give people the whole Ubuntu picture. You
lack integrity and technical know how. Just what kind of service do you
offer other than the obvious?
See above. I'm not offering a service here at all, other than promoting
Ubuntu for non geeks like me. No one is an expert in "technical know
how" and I have never claimed to be one. Do you?
Now, give us the "whole picture" of Vista, including all the technical
work that went into creating it, the bugs, the patches, everything. That
would take you a long time, now wouldn't it?
