The ui can be changed from the default gnome, since there are also kubuntu (kde 4.1), xubuntu, enlighment, and practically tens of different UI environments that you can all have installed and change whenever you like to see which you like best

This is all about choice, and must I say that linux is FAR more customizable that windows will ever be.. you should go to kde-look and see what I mean you dumbell!

with vista you have one stupid UI that you cant even configure the windows explorer buttons like you want! lol

KDE always sucked to me.
KDE 4 just brought crashing into sucking.

I use KDE 4 w/ Suse ... so believe me, I know.
