Either your laptop has problems, or display settings aren't what they should
be.
A final possibility is obsolete drivers.
There are generally two sets of display adjustments on a laptop.
A function key based adjustment for contrast/brightness, and possibly
backlight.
Next there is a windows Display Properties Box that can be invoked by
pressing the right mouse button on most machines.
This box has a settings tab. Next after the settings tab is clicked, an
advanced button is available, that when pressed, opens another box with
various tabs that are used to set the display up.
Most if not all are sort of self explanatory.

have new laptop with VISTA. am not happy with the appearance of WExplorer.
Is very pale and difficult to read text even with the highest resolution.
So I installed Firefox which I thought was great. Only lasted a little
while and could not connect to Internet with Ffox. Then I tried Safari.
Same thing happened could not connect to Internet plus I kept getting
message that I had to install Adobe Flash Player which I could not do
without uninstalling Ffox and Safari. Am I going to be stuck with
WExplorer forever? Is there a way to have a default browser that is not
Explorer?
