No, you need Windows for those programs.


They are the important things to me, and without them, Linux is useless as a desktop system to me.



Then stick with Windows.

Hanging around with a different crowd would simply find me being given suggestions for what I perceive to be inferior software.

If you need programs that will only work with Windows, it pays to have a Windows machine around. I do the same thing for gaming and use Windows only for gaming as Ubuntu serves all my other needs quite well.

You can do everything with Windows. The world runs on Windows OS's and Microsoft Office. There is no need to waste time with any linux distro.
