Try right-clicking the Start button, select Properties, under the Start Menu tab click classic, then ok.
nor when you click the start button, run will be an option.

I have Home Premium Vista. My question is about the icons that appear in the bottom right corner of the screen. A bunch of them. These, I have always been told, represent programs or portions of programs that run and reside in memory upon booting of the computer.
When I had XP, I would do Start - Run - type "msconfig" - OK and select the "Startup" tab in the dialog box that appeared. There I could select which of these little programs I wanted and which not. How do I do that in Vista? Thanks for your time. Otto
