Re: Do we ever need to format/install. . .

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Stupid thinking leads to stupid theories, and with any luck, leads to stupid
user wrecking own system permanently and no longer able to spread stupidity.

The more bits used by OS the greater the chance that something will go
wrong at the magnetic level on platters - mere stats - on the high density
magnetic areas (on platters).
On the above account, a smaller OS is more 'stable.'

Everyone is missing the point. Windows should be re-install yearly.

Complete and utter nonsense. The *only* time it's necessary to
re-install Winsows is after a hard drive failure.

Reason being is that your OS exsist in a magnetic enviroment.
Degragation happens naturally, over time.

Care to provide some sort of scientific evidence for this claim? Until
you can, please stop spouting nonsense.

This of course probably does
not apply to the new solid state drives. I dont know for sure.

But I do know that an install can last for years, but a system that has
a 3 yo install will not perform as well as a system with a 3 day old
install.

It will if it's been properly maintained. And that fact has been
constant since Windows 3.1.

Anyone that tells you it does "belives" it does, because the
degragation is gradual and that person simply cant tell its happening.

Nonsense.

But it is.

Prove it.
