(3) Boot-time defragmentation is currently disabled in Vista/SP1 for
Diskeeper2008(build 781) due to incompatibilities. It will be re-instated

(4) For automatic defragmentation, the GUI does not need to be active/open,
but the Diskeeper Service should be set on automatic and running. All you
need to do is right click on the relevant volume and ensure that automatic
defragmentation is enabled. (Or during the installation itself where such an
option to automatically defrag the system is selected by default)

I have to say that I've seen live demonstrations of Diskeeper vs
PerfectDisk on the latest versions running side by side on identical
machines with imaged drives that were in serious need of
defragmentation - and Diskeeper got it's *** kicked hard. It just
gave up and would not defrag the drive at all because the drive was
all jacked up. It just kept saying that the drive status was
"Critical" - which is annoying if Diskeeper won't actually DO anything
about it.

Mind you it took PerfectDisk hours to fix that drive but when it was
done, an analysis with both Diskeeper and PerfectDisk showed that the
drive was completely turned around.
Diskeeper was then run on the PerfectDisk drive and it still didn't do
any work, it said everything was Perfect. Then PerfectDisk was run and
it found some things it could further improve and made the drive
pristine in two passes which apparently Diskeeper would have
perpetually failed to do altogether.

So I'm sorry to say that all your propaganda links mean nothing
because when put up against other products Diskeeper is a joke, and if
you browse the web and look for people comparisons you see all the
time that people agree that Diskeeper stinks. Seeing is believing and
I for one an convinced that Diskeeper is the most over priced piece of
garbage I've ever seen. The price you charge you for it is absolutely
criminal, I feel sorry for whoever buys it, and I don't believe
thieves have any credibility.

The real competition is PerfectDisk vs all these free tools.
PerfectDisk is still the best over all and I've tried them all and the
price is reasonable and it looks like recently they have been adding
more and more features to keep the value high. I much rather pay for a
PerfectDisk license just to know I have the best that's out there.
