Man.....i've been trying since my last post and not that it didn't
work, I just can't install it!! After trying a gazillion times and
countless strange error message after installing, I went back to the
websiteand found out it's not for Vista! Oh my god. That's 40 minutes
down the drain.

I tried that earlier. I made a shortcut to the QuickLaunch Show Desktop
icon, and put it on the Desktop, and made it hidden. I added a keyboard
shortcut to it, but it didn't seem to work (in XP at least). I am not
sure
why, but that would have been the easiest and neatest solution
otherwise.

Then this would be next in line for me. You know that show desktop icon
which by default is located in the quick launch bar, how do I create a
keyboard shortcut that activates that function (show desktop). How did
you do that, (or how do I do it now since I'm running Vista).

The only logical reason you would want quick access to your desktop is
to click on one of it's shortcuts. The "look" of a Desktop cluttered
with scores of icons went out in the 90's.

A much simpler and more elegant solution is build right into Vista.
Create a separate, hidden toolbar. Details how are included in Vista's
help. There's one toolbar template preset to serve as a link to your
desktop. Just drag and drop ALL your desktop icons to this toolbar, a
new link called Desktop will sit on the Task Bar at the far right.

To view and access all the shortcuts that were on your desktop simply
toggle this link and a list appears and disappears, freeing your desk
top of all clutter leaving just whatever background or art you pick
plus the Sidebar if you wish it. To be safe you may wish to simply
copy the shortcuts on your desktop to the new link until you're sure
they all work correctly, then delete them off the desktop itself
after.

When active you see a list (similar to how XP displayed choices) which
you can sort by name. This list (the new toolbar) appears in the same
space as your Sidebar. In a similar way you can create a toolbar for
your most common Internet links having them neatly out of the way,
this toolbar is also preset named Links.

To get started click on Desktop on Task Bar. You can even create
custom tool bars using this method.
