Hi t-4-2,OK, Bob,
Right click on an open space of your desktop, -- OK
Click Personalize, --OK
Click 1st selection at the top of the list : Windows Color and
Appearance --OK
Click Default. ( If you want, un-check Enable Transparency ) -- It was
UnChecked so I left it alone

Go further down: click Open classic appearance properties for more
color options --OK
Under Color Scheme, click windows aero --AERO WAS already selected
I believe that I followed ALL the steps that you outlined but still get
a
transparent menu selection. When I fist got my system (Lenovo
Desktop-Windows VISTA Premium Home), the )black) text appeared as it
should
so I have to assume that I somehow inadvertently changed a setting
somewhere. Any other suggestions?
This is not a Showstopper but certainly is a nuisance? Thanks, Bob
How about select Windows Basic instead of Windows Aero under Color
Scheme ?
