I'm not running the Windows Firewall, I'm running Norton Internet
Security. But I completely uninstalled NIS on each machine via their
Norton Removal Tool and retried the map with the same error. While I
have Windows Firewall off, the File and Printer Sharing is checked.

May I ask, what Firewall are you using?

I found it! On the laptop, Network Discovery and File Sharing are on.
