I suppose you do realize that all of the documents you create, all of the
music files you download, all of the pron you download all take up space,
don't you? There are Temporary Internet Files, files in the Temp folder,
etc. In addition, you can reduce the amount of disk space used by restore
points, and every now and then you do have to empty the Recycle Bin, just
like your mommy does with your diaper.
Although even with a fresh one, the minute you put it on, it's full of crap.

In all the versions of Windows I've used, never has any been a bigger
hard disk hog that the crap called Vista.
I built this system with a primary 250 GB drive divided into two
partitions, C & E. Since I use the root (C) for nothing other than
Windows itself and the paging file plus the program folder setting
aside 50 GB for C should have been more than plenty. Well about 18
months ago when I installed Vista the C drive AFTER installing all my
software took up 17 GB. Today that 50 GB partition has swollen to the
point only 3 GB is free. That after deleting all the temp files,
cleaning out browser garbage, emptying the Recycle Bin, etc..
Clearly Vista is so poorly written it keeps adding crap under the
Windows folder. One BIG garbage collector is the poorly designed
Registry which grows by leaps and bounds...for no good reason.
Crap you don't need, don't want and crap that is difficult if not
impossible to get rid of. The Windows folder has more than DOUBLED in
size since installing Windows. That's nuts. Pure and simple.
