You've lost me. Erasing past history is as simple as writing zeroes over everything, except that if someone has the actual HDD (as opposed to what), they will still be able to read it????!!!!
I really do think you are provoking some kind of paranoia in a group where it need not be present. And your arguments just do not make sense.
