Strong sales of Office and Windows software help fuel profit!

The division responsible for Microsoft's longtime surefire profit engine,
the Windows operating system, posted a 16 percent rise in earnings to
$3.22 billion in the quarter!

The company sold 50 million Vista licenses in the quarter, for a total
of 190 million since the operating system's January 2007 launch!

Windows Vista and Office 2007 - A HUGH SUCCESS!

Feel the WOW:

Windows Vista - The best operating system in the universe!

But the results are WORSE than expected, leading to a FALL in stocks value.

Microsoft has sucked as an investment for the last decade. I've held
on to a small holding, (a few hundred shares) but I've dumped the rest
a long time ago. Several reasons, Gates' departure, the rise of the
idiot Steve Ballmer and the growing realization that Microsoft's time
in the sun is fading. Microsoft really isn't a growth company anymore.
The way they tried and failed to take over Yahoo is just the latest in
a long list of failures. Even Gates and Ballmer have admitted Vista
sucks and isn't what they hoped it would be. Office, once a flagship
product now is blah at best, and for most free alternatives are just
as good. On the gaming side Microsoft can't get it's act together.
What's left to excite investor's? Another version of Windows in the
next 18 months? Oh wow, I can hardly wait.

As far as profit being up, so what? Microsoft while being a cash rich
corporation pays a piss poor dividend of only 1.74% or about half of
what you can get with a bank CD with no risk. For the clueless, a
corporation that has a market cap of $237 billion to be so cheap
speaks volumes.

Much smaller corporations pay a much higher dividend and offer a much
better growth potential. What's always so damn funny to me is the same
conclusion can be reached about the dopes that post here regardless if
the topic is computers or investing, MOST KNOW NOTHING!

That one share of MSFT your mom gave you is proly the only stock you'll ever own.
I love the way an idiot fool like you calls SB and "idiot". Oh the irony!
You are the idiot...a drunken pig of a person. A real POS loser. You are nothing but a big mouth pompous PUTZ. A failed back room accountant. An unemployed/unemployable jerk.
Look up loser and you'll find your name at the top of that list.
