just to mentiom when i ran the first step of the resolution >>Type the
following command, and then press ENTER:
sfc /scannow
i got this result>>>> window resource protection found corrupt files but was
unable to fix some of them Details are included in the CBS.log
windir/Logs/CBS/CBS.log. for example c:/windows/logs/CBS/CBS.log
then i tried to follow the 2nd step which is >>> To determine which files
could not be repaired by the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:
1. Open an elevated command prompt.
2. Type the following command, and then press ENTER:
findstr /C:"[SR] Cannot repair member file" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log
sfcdetails.txt
when when i do this step i keep getting >>>> the c:/windows/system32> and
nothing happens
so i dont know what to do now?

Some system file must be corrupt. .asx should easily play in media player
and by default.
Some Windows Vista functions may not work, or Windows Vista may stop

when i try to play a video media player on vista from a site it asks me
to
save it first, the file type is
(Windows Media Audio/Video playlist (.asx)
and if i do save it and then try to play it it gives me this msg
>>>Windows
Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the
file
type
or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.
now when I play the same file from the same site on window xp there is
no
problem and it plays directly without asking me to save it
my question is >>is there a setting i should do or change with vista
media
player?
