try burning the disk without "formating" the blank disk. they are already
formatted and the new windows live CD format is buggy at best. Are, you
burning from Roxio or Windows built-in burning feature? you talk about
opening .ISO files in roxio. Are you creating a disk image before you burn
it ? what happens if you burn it straight to disk without creating an ISO
first. If you're computer is crashing when moving your presentation to a
flash drive, your file is most likely corrupt. and finally, as "colon"
suggested, many 3rd party burning software can conflict with certain drives
in vista. Itunes, and Roxio seem to cause the most gas. you may need to
uninstall either / both and see if your problem goes away.

My CD drive seems to be on the fritz. The computer recognizes it, and
when a blank cd is put in it. However, if I try and format it to burn
files onto the CD, it always freezes up and then I have to End the
Program now. When I open an ISO file in Roxio, Roxio does not even see
the drive. Now, even when I try and put files onto my flash drive, it
gets about 90% of the way there and freezes and I have to restart
windows explorer again. PLEASE HELP I HAVE A MAJOR BUSINESS PRESENTATION
DUE SOON! Thank You!
