Re: vista media centre - where does it get slideshow from?

Hi Cado / Oscar

I tried, but didn't seem to work for me..
I done as you suggested and got as far as Settings, then I get the settings options -

General
TV
Pictures
Music
DVD
Extender
Library Setup

The only place to choose a folder is in the Library Setup
I had no folders that were being 'watched' so added the folder with all my photos in, made no difference - still pulls up pictures from all over the disk

Hey ho....
Thanks again
Pete

This should help Pete.

Open MC
Play desired music
Start Slideshow
Right-click on a picture
Select Settings
Select Folder to View.
Make changes and save.
Cheers,
Cado

Not flippant at all my friend - I'm always appreciative of help.

I had a feeling it may be 'just the way it is' - along the same lines as not having a UK spellchecker for Live Mail (unless you know what to edit!)

The joys of Windows.......

Thanks and best wishes
Pete

Hi,

I hope I didn't sound flippant in my first post.

MS has a new troubleshooting/solution term. It's called "work around." I've
found that sometimes it's just quicker to use the "work around" than trying
to program what MS should've done in the first place. My last resort is
always going into the OS (regedit) or Program Files.

Anyways, I thought that you had tried what I had suggested and that didn't
work, so I thought maybe some of your files were damaged.

But it sounds like you're on top of it and have discovered what many of us
have: the slide show in Music MC is silly. It appears that it seeks any photo
files that are in the MC Library which would be in my case C:/User/name.
That's a lot of random images on my computer.

If I find a fix, I'll post it.

Cheers

Thanks Oscar

Whilst a track is playing, there are options on the left -
View Queue
Visualisations
Play Slide Show
Shuffle
etc...

If I choose Play Slide Show it just seems to pick up any .jpg file from
anywhere on my PC - of which there are vast amounts of 'stuff' from websites
(temp internet files), loads of maps from my tomtom backup etc etc

Is there some way of telling MC which locations it should play a slide-show
from.
I would have thought the Library set-up was the obvious place, but it would
appear not......

I know what you suggest does work, but i'd rather not have to search for a
specific directory buried deep in my disk each time.

Thanks again
Pete
