Re: Re-Install Error with Ultimate 64

Cheers Rick but the dirve appears to be perfectly accessible when I attempt
to access it at Windows Setup or indeed to look at the permissions. I can
browse it for drivers at Install too, so it feels as if it may not be a
hardware problem.

I've bitten the bullet and will re-install to a new larger drive although
now I have the fun of sorting out why Vista can't see my Western Digital
250GB drive at Install. No drivers appear available yet once I installed
Vista to a different HD it found the other disc immediately after install.

Just problem after problem as companies try to claw the $$ in too quickly.

Hi,

Are you certain the initial failure was not due to a faulty hard drive? Have
you run a drive diagnostic utility yet? These are freely available from most
drive manufacturers. You may find that your problem is due to the drive
being inconsistent or failing.

My Vista has black screened and wont repair. I have bit the bullet and
decided to reinstall. When I enter the product key or skip it and try to
reinstall I get the following error:

Windows cannot open the required file F:\Sources|Install.wim

Error 0x8007000D

This Vista is a genuine version and this is the product key used to
install
it so I cannot understand why I am getting the error.

I'm truly stuck.
