Rubbish. I use two different office suites, Outlook for email, internet surfing, a news reader for news groups all as a STANDARD account. The VAST majority of users do ONLY that.
When (and it's not often) I need to install something, I have set up an Administrator account with a password, and all I do is in the standard account, either run-as administrator, or UAC automatically prompts me for the password. Nothing LIKE "unusable".
