I find the simplest method is by using a router, cable both PC's from their
ethernet ports to the router.
Use the network wizard to set up the network, both PC must use the same
workgroup name, set My Documents folder to be shared
Pick your software for syncing

Network the two PC then use any sync software.
I use Backer - but there are many
& no easy transfer is not a reliable method

I want to transfer all data from my main computer to a standby computer
(without losing the data on the main computer) and then to synchronize
them both on a daily/weekly basis, both with OS Win.Vista Business.
I am advised by Belkin that their Easy Transfer Cable for Windows Vista
is not 100% reliable for this purpose and they do not have a cable or
software to do this job.
Can someone please point me in the right direction, to acquire cable and
software suitable for this purpose.
