Okay lets see here.

I have Visio 2003 (SP3)

I choose the following

"File"->"New"->"Flowchart"->"Basic Flowchart(Metric)"
On the left I have "Shapes" and by default the"Basic Flowchart
Shapes(Metric)" is open.
I select Process and place it on the blank ***
I then select another of the same and place it on the ***.
I select the first Process I have placed on the *** and right click on it
to hopefully replace it as a decision instead of a Process.
The drop down menu does not offer a "choice of shape" option. The only
options I have available is "Cut, Copy, Paste, View, Format, Shape, Help and
Properties."

Is this the same on your system or am I going down the wrong route
completely here?

On the Basic Flowcharts stencil, near the bottom of the list, is a shape
called "FlowChart shapes". On the right click menu is a choice of shape.
This is not available on the other shapes. The shape contains the
geometries of the basic flowchart shapes and a property that determines
which geometries are visible.

I always use the Flowchart shapes master on the Basic Flowchar Shapes
stencil because you can change between Process, Decisio, Document and
Data with just a right mouse action.

Is there an easy way to replace a shape in Vision with another shape.
i.e. I would like to change the Decision (Diamond) to a Process
(Rectangle) and I do not want to retype the text already in the Process
box?
