    Thank you very much! That fixed the problem.

    I had read the KB article outlining the Adobe problem, but
    I only have Acrobat reader installed locally. However,
    apparently some Acrobat install elsewhere found the
    network install of Visio and added the file in the
    \Visio\Startup folder.

    Microsoft should probably update the KB article to reflect
    this possibility.
