Has the aspect ratio changed significantly. View full page will expand to
maximize the longer of the two distances (height, width). If the ratio has
changed a lot, say, a really wide, narrow page, then, there will be a lot of
"empty" space.

repeatedly. It works well in that the page borders hug the diagram
content. Now that the diagram is smaller, however, the Zoom
"percentage" labelled "Page" doesn't zoom in so that the page fills
the window. I tried saving the file, closing, and re-opening, but no
luck. Thanks for any clues as to why, and how to fix it.
