Unfortunately, the current version of the wizard assumes the "one boss" philosophy. They did add a dashed line that can be used to indicate an alternate reporting path, but it is not part of the wizard and is sort of an addition. It would be the same as using a magic marker on your screen to draw in the extra reporting line.

Not sure I understand. When I try to put connectors between the the
subordinate company and its joint owners, Visio only allows me to join one of
the parent cos with the subsidiary i.e. it doesn't allow a split connector

How would you expect a shared company or employee appear? Visio has made an
attempt to handle employees reporting to multiple masters by adding a dashed
line.
