Hebrew uses letters of alphabet for digits: ? (aleph) is 1, ? (bet) is 2,
and so on. Whether a particular combination of letters is intended to be a
number rather than a word is determined by context.
I said that I don't know of any alphabet that uses digits *in* words. Not
*as* words; I already gave an example of that.
To stretch it to extremes: DIV could mean 504 if you treated it as a Roman
numeral; as you rightly point out, the context gives it the, er, context,
but D999V means nothing to anyone, as far as I know.
