Today regsvr32 gives error code 0x80004002, Interface Not Supported.

I also tried reregistering an old copy of my DLL, built two months ago and properly registered two months ago. The error is the same, 0x80004002.

Does anyone know how to get regsvr32 working again on ATL DLLs?

I've seen this do wonders - try:
msiexec /unreg
msiexec /regserver

Thank you for the suggestion, which I will try again in a few hours. At the moment it failed with an error message that another installation is under way and I should repeat this attempt later.

Twice I tried to do a repair install of Visual Studio 2005. Twice it spent hours before deciding that R:\vs\vs_setup.msi isn't a valid Visual Studio 2005 installer. (Drive R contains MSDN Disc 3200, Visual Studio 2005 Team Edition for Software Developers, Japanese.)

Next as an experiment I tried to uninstall Visual Studio 2005 SP1, which I thought would leave Visual Studio 2005 without SP1, after which I intended to try again to do a repair install of Visual Studio 2005. Nope, SP1's UNINSTALLER spent hours before deciding that R:\vs\vs_setup.msi isn't a valid Visual Studio 2005 installer. (Drive R contains MSDN Disc 3200, Visual Studio 2005 Team Edition for Software Developers, Japanese.)

Now wondering, as a user of Windows XP, is there any way to fix a Visual Studio 2005 installation without doing a FORMAT C:.

Anyway thank you, I'll try your suggestion if I live long enough.
