I just completed the design of a system that enables a
computer program to automatically operate the Graphical User
Interface, using fewer steps than alternative systems, and
without requiring the programmer to learn a new programming
language.
The primary benefit of this system over all competing
systems is that it can automatically operate virtually any
aspect of any GUI interface. Other systems can not
automatically operate custom GUI controls that do not
programmatically expose their state.
I was thinking that this system would be quite useful for
automated GUI testing for the cases where existing tools can
not function. What are your thoughts on this?
