I don't think it's a secret that VC++ is the BEST way to do native or mixed (managed and unmanaged) applications. Since there are languages (C# and VB) that are easier to use for totally managed applications it makes sense for VC++ to focus on native (while still keeping in the .NET world). Giovanni posted the blog entry, but I wanted to add that I don't think MFC is dead by any means. It makes sense for MSFT to improve that paradigm. I don't think anyone knows exactly what they plan to do yet, but I'm enjoying all the recent renewed buzz.

I'm told great things may be on the horizon for MFC. Why the big
secret, can anyone elaborate?
Many thanks,
