This is purely an excercise....all identifiers are dummy which I made
on the fly. Should've chosen some meaningful names. It is a C based
program. No C++ so no new operator :o) I could have written this in C+
+ but I am doing this excercise for two reasons
1. learn legacy C code
2. data structures
