Re: Quiet In Here Tonight

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

As I told the MS folks, "We have now learned that each release of VS will be harder to
use, have more bugs, and generally be a far worse environment to use than the previous
version of VS. We have had a continuous degradation in quality since VS6 and we have
every reason to expect that the next release will be worse".

It's reality. They set our expectations that every version will be harder to use and
buggier than the previous version (note that I exclude both MFC and the C++ compiler from
this).

It's quiet in here tonight... I'll post what I thought was interesting
news. Looks like Visual Studio 2008 might actually ship this year after
all. I don't know if it's true or not, I'd heard the launch was in
February based on other things I've read, but it sounds like it may be
released even sooner than Windows 2008 and the new SQL Server. I guess we
can look forward to that upgrade coming soon...

Hmm, anyone check out the Orcas Beta? Is it anything to look forward to?

Thx,
David
