I don't know if it helps, but you can download Virtual PC 2007 for free and try Vista inside it without needing a separate computer.

David,
do you or someone else know if that is compatible with the Grub
bootloder which i have installed?

Hans:

Virtual PC will run entirely within your XP OS, so if you can boot to XP, you can install Virtual PC (it's just an application) and then load the free Virtual PC trial version of Vista into it. This will have nothing to do with your Grub.

My test is system is both multi-booted to Win2000/XP32/XP64/Vista32/Vista64 (using BootIt NG), and the XP32 installation also has virtual PC with various guests inside (Windows 95/98/Me/NT4 and the Orcas CTP) as well as VMWare Player with some "appliances" inside. It can get confusing if you forget what you are doing, but it all works.
