It isn't consumers vs. engineers; it is twits vs. intelligent designers
inside Microsoft,
and the twits are winning.
No doubt, but probably Microsoft considers the cartoons successful because
it is better for people to hate their computers for aesthetic reasons
instead of for things like blue screens.
