In the non-NDA MSDN Wiki discussion I was at, *MUCH* unhappiness about the non-NNTP
newsgroups was expressed. Several of us said that if Microsoft goes to a Web-only
interface we will not bother participating any longer. Microsoft demonstrates from time
to time that they know very little about good user interface design (proof is the VS.NET
IDE), and NNTP readers rank high on their list of mechanisms they are clueless about. I
use Forte Agent and it is well-designed for its purpose; there is no attempt to fit the
idea into some existing strategy and therefore they were free to do the job right.

These are different than the newsgroups microsoft.public.* Unfortunately,
they can't be read with an NNTP reader like Outlook Express, like these
newsgroups can.
I don't know why Microsoft doesn't have one set of newsgroups, and now they
make a browser only one. But anyway, these newsgroups have a lot of great
content, and seems to be where a lot of MS employees and MVP's hang out.
Check it out!
