Hi Stefan,
Yes, the shortcuts are there. So, what difference does
it make for the service pack whether VS was installed
for a single user or for everyone?
The merge module files are in a user account independent directory, so if
you install the VS2003 for a single user, the corresponding service pack
may be unable to update the files in that directory.
Is there any other way to extract the merge modules from the SP1 file?
We experienced a similar case of the VS2003 SP1 unable to update the merge
modules, in that case the workaround is to perform an administrative
installation of the original VS2003, then apply the SP1 to that admin
fileset. The new merge modules could be retrieved from the updated admin
fileset. But this would be a complex task.
In this regard, would you please send an email to me, we may provide those
updated merge modules offline. (Please remove the "online" of my email
address alias)
