I know we're way off topic here, but I always wondered why the bought dBase
when Paradox was so much better. Of course MSFT bough FoxPro and it's still
going in spite of Access.

working copy just in time for Access to render it obsolete. I used dBase
for many years.
I am intimately familiar with its massive defects. So was everyone else,
which is why it
was quickly superseded once a more reasonable product appeared. Having
Microsoft acquire
FoxPro didn't help it either.
