Performance of GDI rendering???????????

I was confused by GDI rendering performance for a long time. I have written
a program to show graphic maps (*.dxf files), I found that if there are huge
data to be rendered, the speed of rendering will be slower and slower while
panning and zooming in my program. But I found out that applications like
"Macromedia Flash Player" can render huge very smoothly even with
anti-alising, the question is how can I do to get a better result as 'Flash
Player' does?? Is it possible to do that?
.
