That's true to a point but in any event, while C++ is a beautful
language in many ways (more than C# which is still immature IMO),
it's also a failure due to its complexity and "tendency" to blow up
in the hands of the inexperienced. That wouldn't be a problem if the
programming masses were mostly masters at their craft. Given that
most programmers *are* "inexperienced" however (to put it
euphemestically), then it's better to give them a safety ".NET" to
work with.

Nobody complains about the existence of .NET and C#. They have their
place and purpose. FWIW, they do compete with native code, but that
is inevitable. Everything competes within the same environment, as
does everything cooperate. The resources are limited, and the fittest
(for any particular situation) system wins inevitably if all are after
the same resource.

That's not what this discussion was about, IIUIC.
