I am using Visual C++ .NET Version 7.1.3088 to construct a Solution
containing multiple projects. I run on a Dell PC using XP but the source
files are on a server running OS Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1. Over
the past several months, I have gradually been adding source files to the
projects. Right now I have a total of 113 source files being built in.

Could you check the size of *.user, *.ncb, *.suo files for your project. In
VC6 and even in VS2005, if I delete these files and rebuild things become
much better. Also, do you have any Add-In for VS2003 which is possibly
impacting this. I would unload and see if the problem still persists.
