Beta 2 of VS.2005 is available right now:
http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/vs2005/golive/
The "go live" thing means that it can be gracefully updated to the final
version, when it is released.
VS.2005 supports version 2 of the .NET framework - something you definitely
want to look at. Moreover, VS.2005 will be not just IDE like previous
versions.
It is part of a bigger thing called Team System. (However beta 2 has no "go
live" for Team system stuff yet).
The bottom line for significant part of our developers was to skip VS.2003,
stay with old rusty VS.6 until release of 2005.
