Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hi,

I get the following error message when compiling (without any hint which line envokes the error):

fatal error C1001: INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR
  (compiler file 'F:\9782\vc98\p2\src\P2\main.c', line 494)
Please choose the Technical Support command on the Visual C++
Help menu, or open the Technical Support help file for more information
Error executing cl.exe.

I'm using VC++ 6 and have Service Pack 6 installed. Unfortunately I can't find information about this problem on the internet or in the MSDN help.

Does anybody have an idea, what might couse the error?

TIA and greets,
Johanna
.
