Hi, pachanga,

If you are in the US, you can go to the HR dept and ask about changing
your annual W4 (exemptions, deductions, etc.), you can possibly ask
how it will affect your 401K (assuming you have one) or your pension
plan (again, an assumption). You can always ask when the higher
salary will kick in (after training, immediately, so other time, etc.)
and you can always ask the exact amount in your paycheck (make believe
you can't figure it out yourself and make them do it.)

However, don't be too surprised if they look at you and ask "what
raise?" IF your supervisor didn't mention it and the new supervisor
(I assume you talked to your new supervisor before accepting new
responsibilities?) didn't mention it, then they might be considering
this a lateral move (read - new title, no new pay).
